All the candidates who have been allotted seat by Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai for admission to the First Year (F.E.) of polytechnic course in "For the Academic Year 2013-14 should follow the Admission Procedure as mentioned below :
1. Purchase Admission Form. (Venue : Administrative Building).
2. Fill the Admission Form neatly & completely.
3. Verification of the form by the competent authority in the student Section (College Office).
4. Submission of Original Documents along with two attested photocopies of the following documents
I. S.S.C (Std.X) Marksheet. (All Candidates)
II. School Leaving Certificate after passing SSC. (All Candidates)
III. Admission Seat Allotment letter from competent authority (If admitted through CAP). (All Candidates)
IV. Caste Certificate. (For S.C. / S.T. / V.J./ N.T.-1 / N.T.-2, N.T.-3 / O.B.C. / S.B.C. Categories)
V. Non Creamy layer (Issued after 1 April, 2008) For V.J. / N.T.-1 / N.T.-2, N.T-3 / O.B.C. / S.B.C Categories.
VI. Physically Handicapped Certificate. ( If applicable)
i) Reservation for Backward Classes: As per the Notification the reservation of seats for admission in MHF's Polytechnic shall be as under –
Scheduled Caste and SC converted to Buddhism (SC) 13 percent
Scheduled Tribes (ST) 7 percent
Denotified Tribes (DT) 3 percent
Nomadic Tribes (NT-1) 2.5 Percent
Nomadic Tribes (NT-2) 3.5 Percent
Nomadic tribes (NT-3) 2 Percent
Other Backward Classes (OBC) (including SBC) 19 Percent
Total 50 Percent
ii) Female Candidates (FE): There shall be 30% seats reserved for female candidates in the course where the seats for open for male as well as female candidates
The seats reserved for female candidates shall have further reservation among themselves for the categories mentioned above and as per rule.
iii) Management Quota As per [GR 2003 (133/2003) - Tech. Ed. 1 dated 16/04/2003] is 15 percent.
The total number of students to be admitted shall be equal to the sanctioned intake capacity of the MHF's Polytechnic / Institution.
A consolidated merit list based on the marks obtained at qualifying examination shall be prepared arranging all applications irrespective of castes or categories in the order of merit and be admitting authority shall exhibit on the notice board a provisional merit list indicating therein marks obtained which can be seen by all candidates. The candidates seeking admission to the course covered by these rules shall have a right to raise an objection against the merit marks obtained by the other candidates if he has reasons to believe that they are not given correctly. The candidates raising objection, shall lodge in writing his objection, within 2 days of exhibition of provisional merit list. This objection letter should clearly indicate the reasons, which led him to believe that the merit marks obtained by the candidate against whom he has lodged the complaint were incorrect. Sufficient evidence to support his objection must be enclosed. Mere expression of suspicion or doubt shall not be sufficient to warrant any enquiry.
The Principal I Head of the Institution shall make enquiries in the matter on the basis of evidence tendered, and decide whether the objections raised have been proved. If the objections are proved, correction to that extent be effected and a final list be exhibited and date of interview be notified to such candidates.
Admission should be considered on merit and with reference to the choice of courses given by the candidate in their application subject to reservation of seats and priorities as provided in these rules. In the first instance candidates equal to the number of seats reserved for Backward Classes category-wise shall be filled in for each course. After filling in the reserved seats of Backward Class applicants from the merit list, remaining seats in each course shall be filled in No. candidate shall be admitted who has secured less than qualifying marks at S. S. C. Exam After filling up all the seats in all the courses in a Polytechnic, awaiting list based on me drawn for B. C. as well as open category candidates for considering any eventual vacancy.
In case the candidate to whom the admission is offered fails to take admission within the given time, candidate loses his claim and that seat shall be offered to the candidate next in the merit list subject to the observance of quota reserved for Backward Classes. In case eligible candidates of any of the (i) to (iv) categories are not available and the seats remain vacant, such seats should be filled in by giving admission to candidates belonging to other backward categories on their inter-se-merit. In case at the end, any reserved seat for the B. C remain vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidate such seats should be filled in from general merit list. The Principal of Polytechnic should forward to the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State Mumbai complete list of students who are admitted to the Polytechnic giving full details a may be prescribed by him immediately within two weeks from the last date of admission. No separate call letters for interview would be sent to the candidates. The candidates/guardian should report to the office of the Polytechnic as per programme of interviews for admission.
No application other than that provided with this prospectus shall be considered and application will be considered unless it is accompanied by attested copies of the following documents:
# Medical Certificate in the prescribed Performa (in original).
# Certificate of Indian Nationality issued by a competent authority or by a Revenue Office not below the rank of Tahsildar.
# Certificate of passing of the qualifying examination and true copy of the statement of marks
# Certificate of passing of H. S. C. or M. C. V. C. Examination with statement of marks necessary
# School/Institute Leaving Certificate, in original, of the last Institute attended.
# Certificate of birth date, if birth date is not mentioned in school or institute leaving-certificate
# Certificate of the passing Intermediate Grade Drawing Examination wherever applicable.
# Father's / Mother's domicile certificate if candidate has not appeared and passed S. S. C. Examination and Studied two preceding academic years from school located in Maharashtra State.
b) For candidates belonging to Backward Classes
# Certificate to support his claim as backward class candidate in specified form and from specified authority.
# Certificate issued by the competent authority stating that the candidates parents do not belong to creamy layer, as per relevant orders of the Government of Maharashtra
c) For candidates who have not passed qualifying examination from institutions in Maharashtra State
# Domicile certificate in respect of father/mother of the candidate
1. A student will have to pay all the prescribed fees in the office of the Polytechnic immediately on granting him the admission, failing which the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate on the merit list.
2. No reservation of seats exists for direct admission and transfer admission.
